Central Development Region


The central Development Region is located between eastern and western development region. There are three main peaks of height above 7000 m. They are Gaurishankhar, Langtang, and Ganesh Himal.
The main rivers in this region are Sunkoshi, Tamakoshi, Ondrawati, Bhotekoshi, trishuli, Narayani, etc.
Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, Janaki, palanchowk, Bhagwati, and Namobuddha are the main piligrimage in this development region. There are remarkable valleys such as Kathmandu, Bhaktapur,Chitwan, Hetauda, Sinduli, Patan etc . They are commercials cities also. There are industrial states in Kathmandu, Patan, Birgunj, and Hetauda. Mainly Sherpas, Tamangs, Magars, Brahmins, Chhetries, and Gurungs live in mountain and hills. Newars are in majority in Katnmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur. There is good  transportation  facilities in this region. Madwaris, Brahmins, Tharus, Danuwars, Muslims, and others live in the Terai of this region. Agriculture, animal husbandry, fish farming and trade  are the main occupations of these people.
This development region populated than other regions. However , the population density is very low in the mountains, moderate in the hill and high in the valleys and in the terai.
